Olde School Projects

So! At a school, Div. 3 will do a project alone or with a partner. The Social Studies projects will be based upon olde posters, and, oh yes, scrolls, about the culture of Rome and, say, Atlantis. The content of these ‘poster projects’ are written by the students themselves, and their skill level will be represented by the paragraphs(there are eight of them) they will write. Some of the countries they have chosen for a country opposing Canada for the culture ‘showdown’ are shown here: Germany, Korea, Vietnam, and strangely, The Vatican City. One who hears about the Vatican City for a cultural project might think at first, wow, religion is culture so it must be very easy! Well, actually, it isn’t easy. As the paper guidelines say, you have to choose four cultural subjects(religion, food, theatre/arts, values, customs, festivals/holidays, and such as) to write and fuss over. The ones easiest are religion, customs, values, and festival/holidays. In truth, they all fit in religion. That is what one student believes is the theme for her project. Religion||

CAMP!!

It’s been a while since I came back from camp. We went to Timberline Ranch, which was okay. I didn’t have the most fun. We did ride horses, though. My horse was called Raine. I also did archery. And yes I did get the target. We got cabins, and our cabin was called spiders web. The other girls cabin was lions den. The boys got the girly animals such as rabbits and ponies.
The part I absolutely hated about camp was when my head felt like it was packed with cotton, and I couldn’t function properly, even when I just woke up. When I got home, I was all better. So my experience wasn’t the best.

École Sperling (First Day)

So today was the first day(one hour) and, needless to say, I was lost. I’m currently in a grade 6,7 class, and there is only 4 grade sixes so far, and some people look very familiar. Also, there is a Gym teacher. And one of our teachers is married to a teacher from our old school. Yep. That’s all I know. I write more when I know more. By the way, my story about Cupid is going well. Most posts following are second drafts. So, yeah. Will write more!!

School is COMING

I’m changing schools, I’m very excited to see what I’ll come up with, this is a new experience. Yikes.
Gloria’s coming too, and she feels just about the same as me. Gulp. So I’m gonna try to get more inspiration. Ding! I just did.
Sorry for dumb jokes, but I’m nervous and I have nothing to write up here. So..

Some Stuff About School ’11

By: Grace!! Just a little report I wrote!!

At school, we learn, but sometimes we learn boring stuff, such as longitude and latitude, although it is important. And then there are more interesting ones good for finding a job, as some people say: Math. Arithmetic. My friends don’t see art as important, and I sure wonder why. Lots of people play piano, but not many use that as a career. The “lots of people” are mostly Asians. Again, I wonder why.

Then, there’s Gym, or P.E. . We do basketball, a bit of softball, volleyball, some dance, and gymnastics. I’m better at volleyball than any other of them, especially gymnastics.
After Lunch Recess we have silent reading.We also have one in the mornings right after you come in, too. Silent reading is just us reading books quietly. We can also go to the library, getting a maximum of two books. We also have books in our classroom you can read. Sadly, I admit to have been drawing when I’m supposed to be reading. Other than that, I realized I could read two books at the same time, starting on different pages, and ending up on the same pages!

Actual Lunchtime is at 11:30 AM. Then a bell rings, and we eat. We don’t have a cafeteria, so we bring our bagged lunches to our desk.

On Mondays we have no music or gym classes, so we wear whatever we want, because I like to wear it fancy. Apparently, our very strict music teacher “learned that a different school’s music class takes off their shoes at the entrance, so we do that too. Which means no Converse sneakers or boots, basically.

Our class this year went on TONS of great trips. Or maybe just a few great ones. Anyway, that one time we went to PNE’s Playland to learn about “Forces and/or Motion”. So we went on the prepaid rides. and we also went to Camp Sasamat at the end of the year. I won’t forget it: I still have a huge bruise from that day.

Short and Insightful( Not really)

Hi!! Right now I am at school. It is 10:15 AM. it is Dec. 15. Later, when I’m at home I will write Paradise.

I’m back now. It is still Dec. 15, but it is 5:37 PM. Yes this is really short. We were (at school) doing our Social Study project with Windows MovieMaker. Just something my teacher has learned. Teachers learn too, by the way. Like today’s Intermediates X-Mas Concert. Lots of teachers including Ms.Isbister were in it. And Ms.Lewis, the principal. (Strange sigh). Okay that’s all I will write Paradise.

More About My Class

Today, at school, it was a good day. I wrote in my journal. We were supposed to write about ourselves. And I did. Alot. I also made friends with Jeanie, or so I think. Anyway, I am settling in my class nicely, and I wonder who is teaching the math. I also am doing guitar in music in term 2. And the primary classes are having a Christmas Concert, while we are having a Spring concert. I wonder about the spring concert cause we never had one. I know this going to be a great year!!

MY NEW CLASS!!!!

Today, I got my new classroom. Remember, not long ago, I wrote about my “new” teacher? Now I’m writing about my NEW teacher. Any way. . .when I was waiting, waiting to get my new class, I thought about the possibilities of getting my favourite teacher. I ended up getting. . . . .into Division 5! Mrs.Isbister’s class, to be exact. And I get to be in Paulina and Kyle’s class! And Fertancy. And Alex is back in my class. . uh oh. On Monday I will write more, cause I don’t know much yet.

Report Card(Term II)and stuff

On my report card, I basically got the same grades as last term. Cause I still have 4 A’s, 4 B’s, and 2 C+’s. But in different places(some of them). My teacher gave us a test, and it turned out to be a April Fool’s joke! Only Graham(Grade 5) did everything right.

Also , my class is doing a Pink Shirt Day thingy. It’s about No Bullying. The story is that a high school dude was wearing a pink shirt to school, and bullies teased him. So the next day, two dudes went to a dollar store and bought as many pink shirts as possible and gave them to people to wear. The next day, more than half the school were wearing pink shirts. My class and my little buddy’s class are making posters to encourage people to wear pink shirts.

Monday:Go to gym. Come back and do spelling. Art with Mr.B. Math(Mr.Peter’s grade fours come). Lunch. Lunch recess. Silent reading. Any subjects. Recess. L.A. Planners. HOME TIME!

Tuesday:Any subject. Music. Math. Lunch. Lunch recess. Silent reading. Any subjects. Recess. L.A. HOME TIME!

Wednesday:Gym. Spelling. Any subject. Math. Then lunch and everything else.

Thursday:subject. math. everything else with gym before recess.

Friday: gym. And the routine.

That’s the schedule usually. The “routine”, well, no one would write that many times!
